UGMO season had its usual ups and downs. It began with a rainy Santa Barbara Invite where UGMO finished 3rd behind UCSB and UCSD. Cal.s A team followed that tournament with its second consecutive 5th place finish at the Trouble in Vegas tournament (out of 80+ teams). Most notable was the quaterfinals victory over regional rival UBC.
The next tournament UGMO attended was the Stanford Invite where UGMO.s inconsistent play continued. Despite losses to Stanford, UNCW, and Las Positas College, a big win came against Carleton College in which UGMO won 13-8. Making the trip down to Austin, Texas, UGMO.s Centex results continued the trends of the season. Key victories against Oregon, and Georgia, were mixed with tough losses to Texas and several blow out losses.
When the College Series came along, UGMO looked to put up some more consistent results in order to claim one of the two Northwest bids to Nationals. UGMO blasted through pool play with a combined score of 60-9 through 4 games. The semifinals match up against Stanford was a tough battle and with the game tied at 12.s, UGMO.s offense faltered and Stanford took the game 15-12. UGMO followed this game with a disheartening loss to LPC by the same score. Though UGMO was disappointed with these results, they knew they would get another shot at LPC come Regionals. When this chance came, UGMO came through winning on double game point. A loss to UBC put UGMO in the backdoor bracket where they took down Oregon 14-12. UGMO.s season ended with a tough loss to Stanford.
UGMO is returning a good core group of veterans to their 2009 team and will look to be the dominant force in the Northwest in its quest to make Nationals.

ThugMo had one of its largest teams ever with many first time Ultimate players. ThugMo.s early success at tournaments such as the Santa Barbara Qualifier and the Stanford Qualifier set it up for the College Series. ThugMo split up into two teams for the series where they battled with the other B-teams in the section and nearly qualified for Regionals.
